The Department of Cell & Systems Biology at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the field of Plant Single Cell Biology at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.
We seek outstanding applicants with a track record of demonstrated excellence in applying single cell biology approaches in 'omics or imaging to address fundamental questions in plant resilience, especially in the area of environmental or biotic stresses.
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field and a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
Evidence of research excellence will be demonstrated by a record of publications in top-ranked academic journals, peer-reviewed research funding, trainee mentorship, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing.
In addition, evidence of teaching excellence and a commitment to mentoring undergraduate and graduate students will be demonstrated by strong endorsements from referees, a teaching statement highlighting previous teaching experience, and a teaching dossier submitted as part of the application.
