We are a cutting-edge Life Sciences company seeking a talented Pharmaceutical Computational Biologist to join our innovative team in Toronto.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
Job DescriptionMain Responsibilities:
- Perform sophisticated computational analyses to identify cell types, states, genes, and pathways associated with clinical outcomes using single-cell and bulk RNA-seq data.
- Contribute to the creation of intuitive interfaces and comprehensive reports for exploring clinical, biomarker, and RNA-seq data.
- Conduct integrative analyses of diverse data modalities to uncover associations with clinical outcomes and other relevant variables.
- Engage closely with computational and wet lab scientists, providing insights and contributing to ongoing research projects.
- Offer your expertise to enhance research initiatives, participate in brainstorming sessions, and present findings at team and departmental meetings.
- Help drive innovation by developing and deploying new tools and methodologies to support research objectives.
Education:
- PhD (preferred) or M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in bioinformatics or computational biology, with a strong track record of data analysis and research contributions.
Skillset:
- Proficiency in R, Python, Unix, and Git.
- Experience with statistical analysis and analyzing both bulk and single-cell RNA-seq data.
- Familiarity with single-cell analysis tools and techniques.
- Experience with R Shiny for app development and deployment.
- Knowledge of clinical trial data and survival analysis methodologies.
