Faculty Position in Forest Conservation Biology at the University of Toronto

The University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream position in the field of forest conservation biology within the Institute of Forestry and Conservation. This appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.

Candidates must have a PhD degree in conservation biology, biodiversity science, or a related field, and a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. They must have training and expertise in forest conservation science, including conservation biology, biodiversity, ecological systems, and strategies for protecting and restoring forested landscapes.
Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence, including publications in top-ranked journals and presentations at significant conferences. They must also have the ability to contribute to teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs, including the Masters in Forest Conservation program and the research-stream PhD and MScF programs.
The position offers opportunities for collaboration with U of T colleagues across a wide range of disciplines, including Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Geography and Planning, Environment, and Engineering. Candidates with experience in the interface between forests and the built environment are welcome.
