Senior Employee Relations Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Employee Relations Expert to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in supporting the success of our business by providing expert guidance on employee relations matters.
About the Role:
- This is a permanent full-time position based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
- You will be responsible for investigating and finalizing medium/high risk ER/LR cases in support of designated business lines/subsidiaries/countries.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Post-secondary degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business or another related field and/or 2-5 years of experience in Employee Relations or Human Resources are required.
- CHRP or CHRL designation is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Investigate and finalize medium/high risk ER/LR cases, ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, Bank policies, and processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide value-added advice and coaching on employment-related issues to employees, People Managers, and HR Business Partners.
- Lead employee interviews, write investigative reports, and present findings and recommendations to Senior Leadership to mitigate legal risk to the Bank.
- Promote and support a seamless and consistent experience for employees and People Managers with ER/LR issues and concerns.
