Join a purpose-driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.
What you'll be doing.
Employee Relations Managers contribute to the overall success of the Employee Relations (ER) and Labour Relations (LR) business strategy and objectives. Managers are responsible for investigating and finalizing medium/high risk ER/LR cases in support of designated business lines/subsidiaries/countries and ensure that all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, Bank policies, and processes.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Independently manage ER/LR cases requiring specialized depth of expertise and knowledge of the Bank’s Code of Conduct, HR policies (e.g., Global Harassment Policy, Global Human Rights Policy), employment law, and assigned business lines/subsidiaries/countries.
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide value-added advice and coaching on employment-related issues to employees, People Managers, and HR Business Partners ensuring global consistency and alignment to established governing regulations, Bank policies, and processes to avoid precedent-setting outcomes.
- Conduct formal investigations into allegations of serious misconduct both independently and/or in collaboration with the Employment Law Group (e.g., harassment, discrimination, violence) and Corporate Security (e.g., criminal activities, breaches of privacy and confidentiality).
- Lead employee interviews, often engaging in contentious dialogue to analyze the facts of situations; write investigative reports and present findings and recommendations to Senior Leadership to mitigate legal risk to the Bank.
- Work in collaboration with HR Business Partners in planning the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives (e.g., reorganizations impacting a large employee population); identify trends and provide insights to Senior Leadership and HR Business Partners to contribute to the HR strategy (e.g., control breakdowns, talent strategy).
- Promote and support a seamless and consistent experience for employees and People Managers with ER/LR issues and concerns; update and maintain accurate information in the ER/LR case file to ensure defensibility against potential litigation.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions, ensuring teams meet obligations while respecting operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
- Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to a team environment that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates others by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision/values/business strategy.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Post-secondary degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business or another related field and/or;
- 2-5 years of experience in Employee Relations or Human Resources.
- CHRP or CHRL designation is considered an asset.
- Expert knowledge of employment law and labour law (within the various countries ER/LR supports).
- Knowledge of how to read and interpret collective agreements (international).
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to apply sound judgment.
- Strong conflict and alternative dispute resolution skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong report writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to multitask while remaining organized; able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office products.
- Spanish is an asset.
What's in it for you?
- The opportunity to join a forward-thinking and collaborative team, surrounded by innovative thinkers.
- A rewarding career path with diverse opportunities for professional development.
- Internal training to support your growth and enhance your skills.
- An inclusive working environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and celebrates success
