Senior Employee Relations Advisor, Talent Management Expert

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. In this key role, you will provide strategic guidance and support to executives, people managers, and employees on complex workplace situations.
Job SummaryThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years of direct experience in Employee Relations and/or Employment Law. They should possess a deep understanding of Canadian employment law and regulations, as well as experience in aligning risk management with business and HR strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice on workplace issues and concerns to executives and senior leaders.
- Manage highly complex cases and act as the first point of escalation for ERAs on complex matters arising in their portfolio.
- Work closely with Director/Sr. Director on complex and sensitive matters and broader business-related initiatives and projects.
- Build and maintain key relationships with businesses and functions, influencing and negotiating while being viewed as a true partner.
- Minimum 7+ years direct experience in Employee Relations and/or Employment Law.
- Post-secondary education (preferred focus in Human Resources or Employment Law).
- Demonstrated and applied knowledge of Canadian employment law & regulations (both federal & provincial including human rights, accommodation, whistleblowing, and workplace standards/requirements).
- Proven experience aligning and integrating risk management with business and HR strategy.
