Job Summary:

The Health and Safety Manager will play a key role in maintaining and improving the company's health and safety standards, working closely with the health and safety team to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the health and safety team to develop and implement safety plans and programs.
  • Manage and maintain health and safety records and statistics.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on health and safety legislative requirements and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program and other relevant health and safety certifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
