Job Summary:

The Health and Safety Manager will play a key role in maintaining and improving our company's health and safety standards. This position is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and administering safety protocols in-house and on project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular toolbox talks, job hazard assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop and implement construction project safety plans, monitor worker and subcontractor compliance, and enforce safety protocols.
  • Design and implement health and safety policies, programs, safe work practices, and safe job procedures.
  • Provide training and orientation to new workers, maintain online training software programs, and track statistics and records.
  • Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee and assist with incident investigations, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Manage WSIB claims and the return-to-work process.
  • Offer guidance to internal stakeholders on health and safety legislative requirements and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Three to five years of experience in occupational health and safety management.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Certificate of Recognition (COR) Program.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST), or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designations are considered assets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization and provide flexible coverage/hours of work to meet operational needs.
  • Valid driver's license.
