Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Veolia. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing health and safety activities to improve employee safety, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Health and Safety Programs: Create and implement comprehensive health and safety programs to identify and mitigate hazards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and Investigations: Conduct regular risk assessments and investigations to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide Training and Coaching: Provide training and coaching to employees on health and safety procedures, and ensure that all employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Monitor and Report Incidents: Monitor and report all incidents, including accidents and near-misses, and conduct investigations to identify root causes and develop strategies to prevent future incidents.
  • Develop and Maintain Safety Procedures: Develop and maintain safety procedures, including emergency response plans, and ensure that all employees are aware of their roles and responsibilities in responding to emergencies.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and human resources, to ensure that health and safety is integrated into all aspects of the business.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Regulatory Requirements: Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and ensure that the organization is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 Years' Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a health and safety role, preferably in an industrial facility or regulated environment.
  • JHSC Certification: JHSC certification, Part 1 and 2.
  • Post-Secondary Education: Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety or industrial hygiene.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate hazards.
