The Institute for Performance and Learning seeks an experienced Workplace Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in occupational health and safety and a deep understanding of legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead workplace investigations, provide evidence-based recommendations, and ensure adherence to regulations and policies.
  • Develop and implement standardized safety systems, policies, training, and campaigns to educate and create awareness among stakeholders.

Salary: $88,839 per year

About the Role

This is a permanent position that requires strong leadership and communication skills. You will work closely with clients and stakeholders to provide guidance and support on matters related to workplace injuries, safety violations, harassment, and workplace hazards.

Qualifications

  • Formal education in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in occupational health and safety.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation and best practices in occupational health and safety.
  • Direct experience in conducting complex investigations, root cause analysis, worksite inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Possession of a Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSP) designation is preferred.
