Job Summary

As the Senior Manager - Business Development, you will be responsible for leading research, analysis, and development of new business opportunities in alignment with sales and financial objectives at Wesco International, Inc. This role requires the creation of effective business plans to generate revenue, expand into new markets, and improve customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the development and research activities to build on Wesco's strengths, identify potential new markets and business opportunities, increase market share, and strengthen Wesco's competitive position within the industry.
  2. Represent Wesco in identifying, evaluating, and negotiating acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, and start-ups in current and new business.
  3. Identify and document cost savings related to direct spend, indirect spend, and value-added services programs.
  4. Create and implement account business development activities, including product gap identification, account discovery process, and complete organization engagement.
  5. Manage a team of experienced professional Business Development employees and/or supervisors or manage large, complex support, production, or operations team(s) or manage a business process/project.
  6. Establish annual goals and priorities for the achievement of operational results created by business development and passed to the sales team.
  7. Accountable for the revenue target performance and profitability results of a collective team.
  8. Regularly produce, review, and submit required documentation and reports required by Finance and management on the status of the ongoing business, including forecasting future performance.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree - Business Administration preferred.
  2. 8+ years required of experience directly related to position.
  3. 8+ years required of financial analysis, sales, negotiation.
  4. Knowledge of industry, including suppliers, customers, and competitors.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Strong business analysis, financial modeling, and negotiation skills.
  7. Ability to initiate and develop relationships with key decision makers inside and outside the company.
  8. Ability to spot new business opportunities and quickly evaluate opportunities.
  9. Ability to analyze financial and operational data, statements, and projections.
  10. Ability to identify and cultivate external resources.
  11. Ability to establish relationships of trust.
  12. Ability to solve difficult, technical, or complex problems; analyzes and investigates complex problems and devises solutions.
  13. Ability to adapt plans and priorities to address resources and operational challenges within a fast-paced environment.
  14. 10+ years preferred of experience directly related to position.
  15. 10+ years preferred of financial analysis, sales, negotiation.
  16. Knowledge of Wesco's existing business lines, strengths, and challenges preferred.
  17. Ability to accurately recognize when additional company resources are required.
  18. Ability to travel 50% - 75%.
