We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support our Education and Science team at the International Executive Service Corps.

Job Overview

This role will provide administrative support across various program activities, including research initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and project management. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a keen interest in international development.

The ideal candidate will be enrolled in an undergraduate or master's program in education, economics, social sciences, international affairs, development studies, journalism, communications, artificial intelligence, or related fields.

About the Position
  • To be considered, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada or be an international student with authorization to work in Canada for the full duration of the employment.
  • You will return to full-time studies in the next academic term, or if you're in your final year of studies, you must have been previously employed under either the Federal Student Work Experience Program, the Co-op/Internship Program or the Research Affiliate Program.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in international development, working closely with our staff to support projects and programs that promote sustainable development and economic growth.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the analysis and/or documentation of program themes, including gender and inclusion and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL).
  2. Maintain, update, and develop new content for our website, and produce other communications materials.
  3. Support information management, compiling, organizing and filing program documents.
  4. Participate in program meetings and produce quality minutes and briefing notes.
  5. Review and synthesize research papers and project reports.
  6. Support the team with event, workshop or conference organization and implementation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of international development, science and technology institutions, and education systems in the Global South.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to individual, gender, and cultural differences.
  • Exposure to international development initiatives.
  • Writing, reviewing, and editing documents.
  • Synthesis and analysis of research findings.
  • Managing and developing databases.
