We are seeking a qualified contract instructor to teach Japanese at Douglas College. As a faculty member, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching lessons based on curriculum guidelines
  • Preparing teaching materials, quizzes, tests, exams, etc.
  • Evaluating student competencies
  • Providing academic advice to learners
  • Delivering learner-centered instruction
  • Maintaining currency in the field
  • Holding regular office hours
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development

Requirements:

  • A Master's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Native-level competence in Japanese
  • A minimum of two years' experience teaching Japanese to adults
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Initiative, creativity, and self-directedness
  • Ongoing professional development

About the Position:

This is a part-time contract position with a salary range of $52.41-$114.65 per hour.
