About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Vancity as a Human Resources Generalist, supporting the foundation with a range of human resources functions. As a key member of the team, you will provide guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of HR services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with People and Equity at Vancity to support all Human Resources functions at the foundation.
  • Support the foundation with human resources functions including recruitment, training, advising, engagement, performance management, and coaching.
  • Develop human resources material including manuals, policies, procedures, and training and development tools.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to identify and resolve challenges, conflict, or other HR-related issues.
  • Support administrative tasks associated with Human Resources for the Foundation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.
  • HR designation or working towards HR designation.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of HR policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to implement and administer employee policies.
  • Familiarity with the not-for-profit sector.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability for diligent record keeping, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience of applying reconciliation, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles to their work.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $64,500 to $70,000.
