The Role

We are seeking multiple Assistant Project Managers to support our field operations and leadership team in coordinating the building process for concrete high-rise projects. This role will involve directing and owning project performance, including costs, schedule, quality assurance, and project status.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution and ensure timely delivery, within scope and budget.
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedule, costs, and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Work with our project accounting team to submit progress claims, provide forecasts, cost to complete, invoice reviews, and cost management.
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with vendors, third-party contacts, consultants, engineers, and subtrade partners through effective communication.
  • Ensure efficiency, quality, technical competence, and fair management of trades and suppliers.
  • Assist Project Manager in contract negotiations and management with trades, updating the construction schedule, preparing change order management, and preparing progress draws.
  • Coordinate and maintain comprehensive project documentation in a detail-oriented manner.
  • Track procurement of equipment and material and report on delivery dates that may impact project schedule.
  • Review Site Instructions in collaboration with the Project Coordination team, communicate key elements to Site Superintendents and Project Managers.
  • Collaborate with Trade Partners to ensure fair Change Order pricing is provided in a timely manner.
  • Guide the Project Coordinator team by answering questions and overseeing quality and accuracy of tasks completed.
Requirements
  • At least three to five (3-5) years of experience working on-site, on residential and mixed-use concrete projects as part of a general contractor.
  • Proficiency in Procore, MS Project, and other construction-related software will be considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Building Technology, Construction Management, or a similar field will be an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, professional, and business communication skills to interact with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work on-site and be part of the action.
  • Academic experience or professional exposure to Design or VCON will be considered an asset.
