Job Title: Traffic Coordinator/ Design

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Coordinator/ Design to join our team at the Broadway Subway Project Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic in the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to stakeholders, including the Province and Municipalities.
  • Oversee and support the implementation of traffic plans, ensuring compliance with Project Agreement and provincial specifications.
  • Coordinate the preparation of design drawings and tender documents, working closely with construction teams and traffic design consultants.
  • Manage traffic staging plans and traffic control plans, ensuring the safety of traffic and pedestrians.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Province, Municipalities, and transit providers, to address traffic management questions and strategies.
  • Participate in traffic staging and traffic control implementation on site, either during daytime or night time hours.
  • Design, analyze, and simulate vehicles turning paths/maneuverers where applicable.
  • Monitor queue lengths in active sites and implement appropriate measures to ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic.
  • Assist senior traffic superintendents in preparing purchase orders, needs requests, and ordering traffic control personnel and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Traffic Coordinator on complex projects, preferably in urban environments.
  • Demonstrated independence, accountability, and ability to design traffic control plans based on construction work scope.
  • Knowledge of BC MoTI Traffic Management Manual for Work on Roadways and BC MoTI Civil engineering design standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and team members.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, committed, and honest, with a high degree of integrity and client service orientation.
