Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Coordinator/Design to join our team at the Broadway Subway Project Corporation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Ensure the safety of traffic in surrounding areas by overseeing and supporting traffic implementation.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure modifications to traffic plans are approved and compliant with project agreements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of design drawings and tender documents to support traffic management.
  • Manage traffic staging plans and traffic control plans in collaboration with construction teams and traffic design consultants.
  • Prepare temporary traffic staging plans and traffic control plans in accordance with construction requirements and constraints.
  • Coordinate with the communication department to ensure timely updates on upcoming works.
  • Address site issues and deficiencies, and respond to inquiries from stakeholders regarding traffic management questions.
  • Present design issues and solutions to stakeholders, and participate in traffic staging and traffic control implementation on site.
  • Design, analyze, and simulate vehicles turning paths/maneuvers where applicable.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to monitor queue lengths and implement measures to ensure safe and efficient traffic operations.
  • Assist senior traffic superintendents in preparing purchase orders, needs requests, and ordering traffic control personnel and equipment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Traffic Coordinator on complex projects in urban environments.
  • Demonstrated independence, accountability, and ability to design traffic control plans based on construction work scope.
  • Knowledge of BC MoTI Traffic Management Manual for Work on Roadways and BC MoTI Civil engineering design standards.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and other traffic management design software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and ethics.
  • Strong organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and presentation skills.
