Native Community Outreach Coordinator

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Employment Counsellor to provide leadership in the delivery of employment assistance services at our centre. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of employment and training, as well as excellent leadership and management skills.
Responsibilities:
- To provide leadership and guidance to the Employment Centre team in the delivery of employment assistance services;
- To develop and implement training programs and initiatives that meet the needs of our community;
- To establish and maintain relationships with local businesses and organizations to promote job opportunities and career advancement;
- To provide individualized support to clients, including resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies;
- To maintain accurate records and reports, including data collection tools related to employment and training.
Requirements:
- A minimum of three years of experience in employment counselling or a related field;
- A certification in Assessment Component of Employment Counselling, Career Development Practitioner, or Career Facilitation, or a combination of relevant post-secondary education and work experience;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- A thorough understanding of Indigenous history and culture, as well as a sensitivity to the complexities of working with diverse populations.
