About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Coordinator to join our team at The Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our inventory and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including tracking and reporting on stock levels, inventory movements, and stockroom conditions.
  • Coordinate and execute procurement activities, including creating and issuing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and finance, to ensure seamless integration of supply chain activities.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to continuously improve supply chain operations.
Requirements
  • High school completion plus post-secondary training related to supply chain management or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a buyer or procurement role, with a strong understanding of inventory management and supply chain operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to travel within the province to visit sites or regional offices, with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
