Contracts Specialist, Supply Chain

Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a dedicated Contracts Specialist within the Supply Chain division. This permanent full-time position plays a crucial role in managing contract administration and ensuring compliance with procurement processes.

Position Overview:
As a Contracts Specialist, you will be integral to the development and management of contract changes, collaborating closely with Procurement Specialists and the Legal team. Your expertise will support the creation and maintenance of metrics that drive contracting performance.

Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Paralegal Studies, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  2. A minimum of 3 years' experience in contract administration.
  3. Exceptional organizational skills and professionalism.
  4. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
  5. Strong commercial awareness and acumen.
  6. Proficient in summarizing complex details for diverse audiences.
  7. Problem-solving skills to navigate various challenges.
  8. Willingness to mentor and learn from peers.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  10. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and adaptability to work with various stakeholders.
  11. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  12. Familiarity with shipbuilding, defense contracts, or manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Developing and managing contract modifications in collaboration with Procurement and Legal teams.
  2. Reviewing estimates that support contract modifications.
  3. Maintaining and analyzing data related to contracting metrics on a weekly basis.
  4. Overseeing contract amendments and managing the commercial schedule.
  5. Contributing to monthly progress reports and review meetings.
  6. Enhancing processes related to contractual obligations.
  7. Maintaining a log of contracting actions in coordination with the Supply Chain and Legal teams.
  8. Facilitating the completion of action items among stakeholders.
  9. Drafting contract correspondence and notices.
  10. Organizing and maintaining commercial files within company systems.
  11. Preparing executive summaries for contract modifications.
