CONTRACT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a dedicated Contracts Management Specialist to join our dynamic team. This permanent full-time position plays a crucial role in the administration of contracts within the supply chain sector. Position Overview:
The Contracts Management Specialist will be responsible for overseeing contract modifications and collaborating closely with Procurement Specialists and the Legal team. This role requires a high level of organization, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.

Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Paralegal Studies, Engineering, or related fields.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in contract administration.
  3. Strong organizational skills and professionalism.
  4. Ability to multitask and maintain focus in high-pressure situations.
  5. Exceptional commercial awareness.
  6. Capability to comprehend and retain details for effective summarization.
  7. Problem-solving skills to navigate various challenges.
  8. Willingness to mentor and be mentored.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  10. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and adaptability in working with diverse stakeholders.
  11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  12. Familiarity with shipbuilding, defense contracts, or manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Developing and managing contract modifications in collaboration with Procurement and Legal teams.
  2. Reviewing and providing input on estimates that support contract changes.
  3. Maintaining and updating data related to contracting metrics on a weekly basis.
  4. Managing contract amendments and the commercial schedule.
  5. Contributing to monthly progress reports and participating in progress review meetings.
  6. Enhancing processes related to contractual obligations.
  7. Keeping a log of contracting actions in coordination with the Supply Chain and Legal teams.
  8. Facilitating the completion of action items among various stakeholders.
  9. Drafting contract-related correspondence and notices.
  10. Organizing and maintaining commercial files within company databases.
  11. Preparing executive summaries for contract modifications.
