CONTRACT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Contracts Specialist within the Supply Chain department. This permanent full-time position is integral to our operations, focusing on the administration and oversight of contracts related to our shipbuilding projects.
Position Overview:
As a Contracts Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective management of contractual agreements. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our projects by collaborating closely with Procurement Specialists and the Legal team to develop and implement contract changes.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Paralegal Studies, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in contract administration.
- Exceptional organizational skills and professionalism.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain focus under pressure.
- Strong commercial awareness and acumen.
- Proficient in summarizing complex details for diverse audiences.
- Problem-solving skills to navigate various challenges.
- Willingness to mentor and learn from colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and capability to engage with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with shipbuilding, defense contracts, or manufacturing environments.
- Developing and implementing contract modifications in collaboration with the Procurement and Legal teams.
- Reviewing and providing input on estimates that support contract modifications.
- Maintaining and analyzing data related to contracting metrics on a weekly basis.
- Managing contract amendments and the overall commercial schedule.
- Contributing to monthly progress reports and participating in progress review meetings.
- Enhancing processes related to contractual obligations.
- Keeping a detailed log of contracting actions in coordination with the Supply Chain and Legal teams.
- Facilitating the completion of action items among various stakeholders.
- Drafting contract-related correspondence and notices.
- Organizing and maintaining commercial files within company databases.
- Preparing executive summaries for contract modifications.
