About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to fill the position of Recovery & Addictions Clinical Nurse Lead. This role will play a vital part in enhancing the safe and effective delivery of services across all program areas by providing clinical nursing perspectives and support to each site in partnership with the responsible Program Manager.

The successful candidate will provide guidance and mentoring to other RNs/RPNs and LPNs in the organization, supervising the clinical practice of staff within the Withdrawal Management Programs, including Licensed Practical Nurses and other designated staff. They will ensure that day-to-day operations of the service are delivered in accordance with The Bridge's philosophy, policies, and procedures, prioritizing the safety and well-being of individuals in care.

This role involves ongoing clinical and program supervision, performance coaching, and evaluation of nursing staff. As a member of the agency Leadership Team, the Clinical Nurse Lead will participate in various agency initiatives, community committees, and contribute to the development of strategies to promote recovery and addiction treatment.

The successful candidate will be part of a Nursing roster supporting the safe and sustainable operations of the program as a member of Nurse on Call for the Withdrawal Management sites, with a minimum commitment of 20 days per month.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants must possess:

  • A diploma or degree in nursing and registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a registered nurse (RN) or registered psychiatric nurse (RPN)
  • Completion of the UBC CPD Addiction Care and Treatment Online Course
  • 3-5 years of experience working in addictions/substance use treatment field (preferred)
  • Training and experience providing evidence-based responses to alcohol use disorder, substance use disorder, and concurrent disorder
  • Experience working within or leading facility-based/residential services
