About the Role

The University of British Columbia and BC Children's Hospital are seeking an exceptional Senior Medical Director to provide visionary leadership for the clinical and academic services of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of pediatric care in British Columbia and Yukon, working collaboratively with experts in specialized medical evaluation and treatment of children with cancer and blood disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a unified vision for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology that supports transformation and excellence in patient care, research, and education.
  • Lead a team of experts in providing consultative and directive care for patients requiring hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for malignant and non-malignant conditions.
  • Cultivate partnerships with the Research Institute to advance discovery and translational research in pediatric hematology, oncology, and cellular therapies.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and mentorship among Division and program members, promoting patient safety, quality improvement, and patient-centered care.
  • Work closely with the Provincial Health Services Authority to plan and develop specialized clinical services for children and youth in BC.
Requirements

The successful candidate will be a certified specialist in Pediatrics, with a recognized training program in Pediatric Hematology and/or Oncology. A strong track record of leadership, academic, and research excellence is essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $275,000 - $375,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is also included.
