As a Medical Oncologist at BC Cancer, you will be part of a team that delivers a comprehensive cancer control program to the people of British Columbia.

We work in close collaboration with regional health authorities to deliver a range of cancer services, including prevention, screening and early detection, diagnosis and treatment, research, education, supportive care, rehabilitation, and palliative care.

We are part of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), which plans, manages, and evaluates specialty and province-wide health care services across BC.

About the Role

This locum temporary full-time position involves working as a Medical Oncologist at our Vancouver facility. You will provide high-quality cancer care to our patients, using your experience and qualifications to manage lung/head & neck and/or gastrointestinal malignancies.

Clinical experience in these areas is highly desirable, and preference will be given to individuals with additional years of research training or fellowship beyond medical oncology residency training requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality cancer care to patients, including managing lung/head & neck and/or gastrointestinal malignancies
  • Support the activities of the Vancouver Medical Oncology Program and the UBC Medical Oncology Training Program
  • Teach postgraduate trainees and undergraduate medical students
Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Have obtained or be working towards Fellowship standing in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine
  • Hold a certificate of Special Competence in Medical Oncology
  • Be eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia
  • Meet the requirements of credentialing by the Professional Advisory Committee of BC Cancer
  • Be eligible for a clinical appointment in the Division of Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia

The estimated salary for this position is around $325,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
