Marketing and Business Development Lead

The Port of Argentia is a leading heavy industrial seaport located on the southeastern portion of the island of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. We are seeking an experienced Marketing and Business Development Lead to join our team.

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Argentia, NL. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote the Port of Argentia and its services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing marketing plans to drive business growth and increase revenue;
  • Crafting compelling content to engage stakeholders and promote the Port's competitive advantages;
  • Managing the Port's social media presence and developing effective online marketing campaigns;
  • Collaborating with internal teams to develop business development opportunities and grow existing relationships;

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business administration or commerce with specialization in marketing and/or public communications/media relations and/or business development. A minimum of five years of experience in marketing/business development is required, as well as expertise in strategy development and execution, budget management, and team leadership.

Key Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A strong understanding of marketing practices and business development principles;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage stakeholders and promote the Port's brand;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines;
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, and able to learn new software quickly;
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License and willingness to travel occasionally;

The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 CAD per year, depending on experience. This figure takes into account the location, job requirements, and industry standards.
