The Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead and manage all facets of our organization. As the Operations Director, you will oversee daily operations, strategic planning, business development, team leadership, and client satisfaction. This role requires a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about technology and innovation in accounting services.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversight of day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth delivery of all services.
  2. Leadership, mentoring, and management of a team of accounting and administrative professionals.
  3. Recruitment, training, and retention of top talent in line with company goals.
  4. Fostering a collaborative, client-focused company culture.
  5. Development and execution of strategic plans to achieve business growth and market expansion.
  6. Collaboration with the Business Development Manager to identify new revenue opportunities, partnerships, and service offerings.
  7. Monitoring of financial performance, budgets, and KPIs to ensure organizational success.
  8. BUILDING AND MAINTAINING STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH CLIENTS, ENSURING HIGH LEVELS OF SATISFACTION.
  9. Serving as the primary representative of the company, embodying its mission and vision in all interactions with clients and partners.
  10. Addressing and resolving any client issues with professionalism and efficiency.
  11. Staying ahead of industry trends and advancements in accounting technology.
  12. Leading the adoption of innovative tools to improve service delivery and client outcomes.
  13. Ensuring data security and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  14. Management of the integration and optimization of cloud-based accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Hubdoc, Dext, or other tools.
  15. Implementation and enforcement of efficient processes and workflows to maximize productivity.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field (MBA/CPA preferred).
  2. 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  3. Strong understanding of cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Hubdoc, Dext, etc.).

Compensation Package

This full-time position comes with a competitive salary range of $80,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience, plus additional pay through commission-based sales incentives. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package including dental care, flexible schedule, on-site parking, paid time off, and vision care.

Preferred Location

We prefer candidates who are willing to relocate to St. John's, NL A1B 4C4, however, remote work options may be considered for highly qualified candidates.

Language Requirements

English is the primary language required for this role, but proficiency in French is not necessary.

Willingness to Travel

A willingness to travel up to 50% of the time is preferred, but not required.
