Job Description

Evident Scientific is undergoing a transformation to align its processes, policies, and functions globally. By outsourcing business processes (BPO), certain transactional accounting activities are being transformed to enable more efficient use of resources, both from a transactional and analytical perspective.

As a key member of the Corporate Accounting Director for the Americas, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the complete accounting cycle for accounts payable activities in the Americas, covering Canada, the United States, and Mexico, as well as supporting daily accounting activities. The candidate will lead a 10-person BPO team whose operations support three different ERP systems. The candidate will work closely with the global treasury team to ensure the success of the integration of operations with a new bank. The candidate will also be responsible for managing various internal and external audits.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage BPO activities for all matters related to the payable process, from invoice entry to payment, for the three legal entities.
  • Establish control and tracking tools with BPO to have a vision on the daily operations made and to be made by external consultants.
  • Harmonize policies in place across different sites in the Americas and globally.
  • Work with various departments such as procurement and warehouse to optimize the communication process.
  • Support treasury activities during integration and daily operations of the new banking relationship (communication to issuer, credit cards, signatories).
  • Collaborate with treasury to set up an automated electronic payment process (batch file upload, connectivity between bank and ERP) to minimize check printing.
  • Understand, interpret, and ensure compliance with the company's accounting policies and IFRS standards.
  • Support monthly accounting activities by coordinating with BPO and stakeholders to ensure all activities are completed on time and accurately.
