Job Summary

The District Operations Manager plays a critical role in overseeing highway safety and infrastructure improvements. This position requires a high level of independence and autonomy, allowing the successful candidate to set their own tone and lead the team with their unique style.

The Role

As the District Operations Manager, you will lead the Operations Team and work closely with the maintenance contractor. Your responsibilities will include supervising and inspecting the construction, repair, or maintenance of roads, bridges, and similar structures, as well as negotiating and coordinating the work of construction trades.

Qualifications
  • Secondary School Graduation or GED and a minimum of 7 years of public or private sector related work experience, or
  • Graduation from a Technical Institute in a related field of study and a minimum of 5 years of public or private sector related work experience, or
  • Graduation from a University in a related field of study and a minimum of 3 years of public or private sector related work experience, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to applicants with direct transportation-related experience, including contract management, project delivery, road and bridge construction, and emergency response.
