Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our Commercial Banking team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with our clients, identifying new business opportunities, and providing expert advice on our range of business banking products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business plans to achieve sales targets and grow our client base.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to pursue them.
  • Provide expert advice on our range of business banking products and services, including lending, cash management, and trade finance.
  • Work closely with our sales and marketing teams to develop and implement sales strategies and campaigns.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activity to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Collaborate with our risk management team to ensure that all business activities are conducted in accordance with our risk management policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our internal stakeholders, including our sales, marketing, and risk management teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in our products and services, as well as industry trends and developments.

Requirements:

  • Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of business banking products, lending processes and loan documentation, and supporting policies, procedures, and technologies.
  • Strong experience with customer sales and service.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
