Group Sales Professional

This is a dynamic sales opportunity with Marriott International, where you will be responsible for handling incoming leads for large groups and catering opportunities in an assigned geographic area. You will work closely with customers to align their preferences with brand needs, actively up-sell each business opportunity to maximize revenues, and drive customer loyalty.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be a seasoned sales professional with experience in group sales, hospitality management, or a related field. You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Responds promptly to incoming large group/catering opportunities within the Group Sales team parameters
- Refers opportunities to appropriate sales associates if outside the Group Sales parameters
- Understands market trends, competitor strengths/weaknesses, and sells against them
- Verifies business booked meets hotel parameters
- Closes top opportunities based on market conditions and individual property needs
- Executes operational aspects of business booked (proposal generation, contract writing, customer correspondence)
- Transfers accurate, complete, and timely information to properties according to brand standards
- Upsells each business opportunity to maximize revenue for individual properties
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years' experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or a related field
- Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major; 2 years' experience in sales and marketing or a related field
- Preferred: Experience selling large group business, knowledge of the group sales process, team-based selling experience, and a Hospitality Management Degree
