Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Support Engineer to join our team at Connect Tech Inc. in Guelph, ON Canada. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our customers, ensuring that they receive the best possible service and experience with our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and support to customers via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our products, including their features, functionality, and technical specifications.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze and resolve complex technical issues, using a variety of tools and resources to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure that technical issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our engineering team to identify and resolve technical issues, and to develop new products and features.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of technical issues, solutions, and product information.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a technical support role, preferably in the electronics or computer industry.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, quick learner, self-starter, and self-organized. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of computer bus and interconnection standards, such as PCI Express, PCI, USB, SATA, CAN, I2C, SPI, RS-232/485. Experience working with C, Python, and associated compilers in a Linux OS environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Embedded Systems: Experience with embedded systems, NVIDIA Jetson, GPUs, and low-level C programming.
  • Operating Systems: Knowledge of Linux, Windows, and other operating systems, including QNX, Android, and other embedded type operating systems.
  • Networking: Knowledge of low-level networking protocols, including TCP, UDP, FTP, Telnet, SNMP, SNTP, and HTTP.
  • Customer Support: Experience in customer support or service, with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service.
