Job Summary

The City of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Community Development Manager to lead the implementation of the Toronto Newcomer Strategy. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of newcomers and refugees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of community engagement strategies to promote the Toronto Newcomer Strategy and its key objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize newcomer-related issues and develop policy recommendations to address them.
  • Manage the development and implementation of key performance indicators to track the success of the Toronto Newcomer Strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, and private sector partners.
  • Develop and implement communications strategies to promote the Toronto Newcomer Strategy and its key objectives.
  • Lead a team of professionals to achieve the objectives of the Toronto Newcomer Strategy.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in community development, policy analysis, and program evaluation.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and managing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of municipal governance structures, services, and programs, as well as government legislation in the area of immigration and settlement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
