The Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Chief & Director of Paramedic Services. As a key member of the Health Services Commissioner's team, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the department and delivering high-quality care to the community.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of over 1,000 employees and make a significant impact on the lives of residents, visitors, and communities in Brampton, Caledon, and Mississauga.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors.
  2. Provide leadership and operational direction to a multi-disciplinary staff.
  3. Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build partnerships and achieve results.
  4. Deliver outcomes that enhance the quality of life for residents, visitors, and communities.
  5. Foster a supportive, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  1. University degree in Health Sciences or a related health discipline.
  2. Practical experience as a paramedic and 8 years in a senior leadership role delivering paramedic services.
  3. Key role in establishing divisional strategic and business plans in alignment with departmental and corporate goals.
  4. Solid understanding of health equity and experience working with community partners to address barriers to care.
  5. Ability to make critical decisions in emergency planning, coordination and command, communications, operations, and logistics.
