Job Summary

EnerSys is a global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications. We are seeking a skilled Inventory Service Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate activities related to equipment installation, technical problem-solving, and preventive maintenance.
  • Investigate and resolve customer reports of technical issues with equipment.
  • Eliminate future operational or service difficulties by performing duties such as:
    • Maintaining inventory cells and parts.
    • Building batteries.
    • Installing cables on new batteries, including accessories.
    • Providing outside service, including traveling to customer sites to evaluate, diagnose, and repair equipment.
    • Performing discharge tests, evaluating results, and making necessary repairs.
    • Assisting with the installation and/or removal of motive power batteries.
    • Removing and disassembling cells and inspecting parts to detect defects.
    • Replacing defective parts, reassembling batteries, and fusing lead parts with a gas torch.
    • Adding acid or water to obtain specified concentration.
    • Diagnosing and repairing batteries, reading meters, and adjusting charge parameters to control time and flow of current through batteries.
    • Installing, providing preventive maintenance, and repairing batteries.
    • Operating material handling equipment per OSHA requirements.
    • Performing inspections and analyzing findings to determine the source of problems and recommending repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
    • Maintaining records of performance reports.
    • Maintaining a safe, orderly, and clean working environment, including cleaning the warehouse in the service area at the end of the day.
    • Assisting the shipper/receiver.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, or industry-related experience and/or training in installation, maintenance, and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing and/or production.
  • One to two years of industry-related experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and industry experience.
  • A basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience working with hand and power tools.
  • A forklift license certificate.
  • Ability to read and write English fluently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A basic electrical understanding.
  • The use of test equipment and reading schematics.
  • Electrical experience in troubleshooting or repairs, such as auto, boat, or truck.
