Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Chief & Director of Paramedic Services for the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the department and providing the community with the highest quality of care through various programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide progressive leadership and operational direction to a multi-disciplinary staff of over 1,000 paramedics.
  • Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build partnerships and achieve results that enhance the quality of life for residents, visitors, and communities.
  • Develop and implement divisional strategic and business plans in alignment with departmental and corporate goals.
  • Make critical decisions in emergency planning, coordination and command, communications, operations, and logistics.
  • Manage external contract resources and multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Health Sciences or a related health discipline, along with practical experience as a paramedic and 8 years in a senior leadership role delivering paramedic services. A solid understanding of health equity and experience working with community partners to address barriers to care is essential.
