Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a WARD CLERK in the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) at Toronto General Hospital. As a Ward Clerk, you will be responsible for performing reception duties, providing clerical support, organizing and maintaining patient charts, and ensuring the efficient operation of the unit.

Responsibilities
  • Performing reception responsibilities and providing clerical support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations in the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
  • Organizing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient charts, both electronic and paper-based.
  • Scheduling and coordinating appointments, meetings, and events to facilitate communication among healthcare professionals.
  • Maintaining written and/or electronic calendars and schedules to stay organized and on top of tasks.
  • Ensuring the efficient operation of the unit by performing administrative functions within the scope of authority.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent education.
  • Minimum one (1) year of related clerical experience.
  • General knowledge of office practices, processes, and procedures.
  • Previous computer word processing and spreadsheet experience.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Good data entry/keyboarding skills.
