Job Overview: As a Medical Assistant at Appletree Medical Group, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Register patients administratively, including reception, scheduling, and collecting payments
  • Prepare patients clinically, hosting them in exam rooms and performing triage
  • Apply scripts, scenarios, and clinical skills appropriately
  • Utilize our Electronic Medical Record system (EMR Advantage) effectively
  • Maintain inventory levels by stocking exam rooms and other areas daily
  • Clean and sanitize exam rooms, foyers, and bathrooms to ensure a clean environment
  • Perform opening and closing procedures of the clinic
  • Manage records and documents, along with other administrative duties as assigned
  • Train in specialty programs like Travel Medicine, Allergy Testing, Foot Care, and Well-Baby, following a successful probationary review

Requirements:

  • Reside in Ontario
  • Be eligible to work in Canada permanently or possess a Work Permit valid for at least 12 months
  • Be able to move around the clinic and perform tasks on your feet
  • Have 1-2 years of post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • An undergraduate degree in health science, Kinesiology, General Science, or Arts is considered an asset
  • Six months to one year of customer service experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in other languages is an asset
  • Commitment to working days, evenings, and weekends
  • Flexibility to work at multiple clinic locations within the region
  • Passion for personal learning, training, and ongoing development
