About the Role
Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Administrative Coordinator - Healthcare Setting to join our team. This exciting opportunity will see you provide clerical and administrative support in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support nursing, other hospital staff, and community services with clerical tasks
- Operate, maintain, and order office and hospital equipment and supplies
- Input data information for surgical ambulatory patient flow, including confirming chart completion in EPIC
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in person
- Communicate with staff, patients, and families
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Prior experience in an administrative/clerical role, preferably in healthcare
- Keyboarding skills (40 wpm)
- Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively deescalate situations
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills
- Proven attendance record
- Understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in perioperative surgical flow or Surgical Ambulatory Flow
- Previous experience within the Unit Secretary classification
