Job Summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housing Services Manager to lead our residential programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of housing services, ensuring the well-being of our clients, and promoting a culture of excellence within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective housing programs that meet the needs of our clients, including Rapid Rehousing, Booth Place Apartments, and Intensive Case Management.
  • Supervise and support a team of Housing Support Workers, Intensive Case Managers, and other staff members to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including government agencies, community organizations, and funders, to ensure the success of our programs.
  • Develop and manage budgets, reports, and other administrative tasks to ensure the effective management of our programs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
  • Participate in the selection of residents for Booth Place Apartments and the Rapid Rehousing program.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff, clients, and stakeholders to ensure open communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • University degree in Human or Social Services, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in supervision, leadership, and social services, including experience working with a diverse population.
  • Knowledge of community-based resources and experience networking with government and social service agencies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Nova Scotia class 5 driver's license and current copy of driver's abstract.
  • Background check with vulnerable sector screening.
