Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with The Housing Trust of Nova Scotia to recruit a Senior Project Manager for the Modular Housing for Healthcare Program.
The Housing Trust's mission is to provide quality and affordable housing for low to moderate-income working households in Nova Scotia.
The Senior Project Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, control, execution, and completion of off-site modular construction and on-site work to facilitate modular projects.
This role will support the success of the program, managing and overseeing all modular construction projects from start to finish.
By joining the Housing Trust, you will play a vital role in combating the current housing crisis, allowing more families to achieve housing affordability and security.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Oversee, manage, and direct modular construction projects from start to finish;
- Work with the Housing Trust's Site Superintendent to coordinate and manage all subtrades;
- Implement quality control methodologies for awarded scopes of work;
- Monitor and meet terms of the Housing Trust's modular agreement;
- Lead and plan regular Modular Committee meetings;
- Prepare internal and external job status reports and presentations;
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety and building codes;
- Manage and mitigate risks;
- Manage budgets, invoices, and payment schedules;
- Secure close-out documents;
- Supervise a Junior Project Manager and work collaboratively with Site Managers;
- Identify and assess sites for modular development.
As the ideal candidate, you bring forward relevant working knowledge of construction processes and proven experience in construction management.
- Proven working experience in project management in the construction sector;
- Experience managing consultants, trades, and employees;
- Access to a reliable vehicle and holder of a valid driver's license;
- Practiced user of construction management software and Microsoft Office;
- Financial acumen and experience managing budgets;
- Development and management of RFP processes;
- Knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules and regulations;
- Practical building envelope experience and knowledge of passive house standards;
- Experience implementing safety plans;
- Strong leadership and influence abilities;
- Time-management skills and ability to multi-task;
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills;
- Experience leading and supporting volunteer engagement;
- Critical thinking and analytical skills.
