Job Title: Housing Services Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housing Services Manager to join our team at The Salvation Army Halifax Centre of Hope. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our housing programs, ensuring that services are delivered effectively and efficiently in line with our organization's values and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of housing services.
  • Supervise and support a team of staff members, including case managers, outreach workers, and support staff.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure that our housing programs meet the needs of our clients.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our housing programs, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Ensure that all staff members are trained and equipped to provide high-quality services to our clients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to ensure that our housing programs are well-integrated into the broader community.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role, preferably in a social services or housing context.
  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team of staff members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of community-based resources and experience networking with government and social service agencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including those experiencing homelessness or poverty.
  • Knowledge of housing policies and procedures, including those related to affordable housing and homelessness.
  • Experience with program development and evaluation, including the use of data to inform decision-making.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
