Job Summary:

The Housing Support Worker plays a vital role in supporting youth who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. This position requires a strong understanding of youth development and the issues surrounding homelessness. The ideal candidate will have experience working with at-risk youth and a passion for creating effective housing plans that address the unique needs of each individual.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with youth, staff, and community agencies to create and implement housing plans that promote stability and independence.
  • Provide support and advocacy for a caseload of 20-25 youth, including intake, assessment, and referral services.
  • Liaise with landlords and property managers to secure suitable housing options for youth.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and agencies to ensure access to necessary services and support.
  • Conduct public education presentations about the agency and the issues surrounding homelessness.
  • Compile statistics and data to inform program development and evaluation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Social Work or related undergraduate degree.
  • Registration or candidacy for registration with a related professional body.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with at-risk and homeless youth.
  • Non-violent crisis intervention, suicide intervention, and standard first aid training.
  • Experience in program development and community outreach.
