Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at Estée Lauder Companies. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our Canadian Affiliate, focusing on Field and Retail employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition: Develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top talent in the Canadian Affiliate.
  • Succession Planning: Identify and develop future leaders within the organization, ensuring a smooth transition of leadership roles.
  • Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, and progressive discipline.
  • Performance Management: Partner with managers to develop and implement performance management processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Career Development: Design and deliver training programs to support employee growth and development, aligning with business needs.
Accountabilities
  • Leadership and Consulting: Provide strategic HR guidance and support to senior management, driving business objectives while considering employee interests.
  • Employee Disciplinary Actions: Manage employee disciplinary actions and terminations, partnering with legal counsel as needed to mitigate potential risk and exposure.
  • Employee Trends and Issues: Proactively identify employee trends and issues, advising managers on appropriate actions and solutions.
  • Positive Employee Relations: Execute HR strategy to create positive employee relations, addressing complex performance management and employee issues.
  • Investigations: Investigate employee grievances, cases of discrimination, harassment, and other employee relations allegations.
  • Talent Acquisition Process: Manage the talent acquisition process for office employees, including sourcing, screening, testing, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
  • Performance Management Process: Partner with managers on the performance management process, including education on goal setting, expectations, and accountability.
  • Training Needs: Deliver training needs as identified, such as Employment Legislation updates, Performance Management, Recruitment, and various workshops.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Work closely with the management team and compensation team on job evaluation, pay actions, and recommending pay structure revisions.
  • HR Policies and Procedures: Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resources policies and procedures, ensuring standardization across all Brands and functions.
  • Talent Planning Strategy: Provide guidance and consulting support to Brand Leads and Department Managers on a suitable talent planning strategy for their respective teams.
  • Inclusion and Diversity: Foster a culture that values diversity and demonstrates fair and consistent management practices.
  • HR Transformation Projects: Participate in HR transformation projects, such as new process implementations, new HR technology, and organizational design projects.
Qualifications
  • Education: Post-Secondary Degree required, with a minimum of 7+ years of relevant working experience.
  • HR Generalist Experience: Human Resources generalist experience required, with knowledge in employment law, organizational planning, employee relations, training and development, talent management, performance management, and talent acquisition.
  • CHRP Designation: CHRP designation is preferred.
  • Communication and Relationship Management: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with relationship management skills.
  • Strategic Thinking: Must be a strategic thinker, with the ability to partner with senior management to drive business objectives while considering employee interests.
  • Problem-Solving and Negotiation: Ability to relate to all levels and backgrounds of employees within a diverse population, with strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrates well-developed business acumen and understands how to implement and manage change.
  • Communication, Presentation, Leadership, and Management Skills: Strong communication, presentation, leadership, and management skills.
  • Detail-Oriented and Proactive: Detail-oriented, proactive, with strong follow-up and investigation skills.
  • Ability to Handle Multiple Assignments: Ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comprehension of Retail Organization: Comprehension of retail organization and environment.
Tech Skills
  • Microsoft Office: MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint required.
  • Taleo and Oracle: Taleo and Oracle an asset.
