Human Resources Business Partner Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at Loblaw Companies Limited. As an HR Business Partner, you will play a key role in supporting our SDM stores in the GTA-North region, providing expert guidance and advice on all aspects of human resources management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Coaching: Provide coaching and guidance to Associates, management team members, and business unit teams on HR-related matters, including employee relations, HR policy interpretation, and other HR programs and practices.
  • Employee Engagement Survey: Analyze and interpret store staff surveys, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify and Monitor: Identify high-risk stores and develop strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with provincial legislation and common law decisions.
  • HR Standards: Ensure consistent application of National HR Standards and best practices across all stores.
  • Compensation: Consult with Associates on wage and annual merit adjustments, ensuring alignment with market wage guidance.
  • Store Acquisitions: Provide HR leadership and support during store acquisitions, new store openings, relocations, and associated downsizing.
  • Liaising: Collaborate with Peers Representatives to promote awareness and adoption of new processes and initiatives.
  • HR Orientation: Deliver regular HR Onboarding/HR 101 sessions for new Associates and their management team members.
  • Presentations/Updates: Provide weekly HR updates to Operations business unit team and present HR content as requested.
  • Talent Development: Promote the LEAD program in stores, building the talent pipeline for key leadership and hard-to-fill roles.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management/Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive human resource experience, with expertise in Employee Relations & HR Business Partnering, provincial Human Resources/employment legislation, and regulations.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to plan and implement programs and projects.
  • Computer Skills: Strong proficiency using Office 365, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
  • Self-Management: Ability to work autonomously, using strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Relationship Building: Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trust, confidence, and influence across multiple areas/departments.
  • Presentation Skills: Comfortable leading meetings and delivering presentations/training and updates to groups.
