Job Summary

The Senior Advisor, Reconciliation & Equity Strategies is a key role within BC Housing, responsible for developing and implementing strategies that align with the organization's business objectives while considering the needs of diverse communities. This position reports to the Executive Director, Reconciliation & Equity Strategies, and works collaboratively with various branches to achieve results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies that promote reconciliation and equity in BC Housing's business operations.
  • Provide input to the development of business plans, processes, and practices that support the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives that promote reconciliation and equity in the affordable housing sector.
  • Support the Executive Director in working collaboratively with all branches to achieve results.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to promote reconciliation and equity in BC Housing's business operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Considerable experience in leading and managing business strategy, project management, and communications in the public sector.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and applying frameworks in equity, diversity, inclusion, and human rights.
  • Sound knowledge of the affordable housing sector in BC and the ability to analyze problems and identify weaknesses in policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lead project teams, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate tact and diplomacy in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional groups to achieve common goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in a government agency or non-profit organization.
  • Knowledge of the BC Housing mandate and programs.
