Benefits Reconciliation Clerk, Payroll

Join our team as a Benefits Reconciliation Clerk, Payroll, and play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing.

  • Under general supervision, reconcile benefits and general deductions to provider statements, ensuring timely remittance of premiums and deductions.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee benefit payments and key deduction and benefits adjustments.
  • Provide information to staff and external sources, including CRA, Union Associations, and HBT.
  • Administer collective agreement provisions regarding benefit information and perform other related duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process group documents for billable services, adjustments, refunds, and payments.
  • Reconcile designated accounts by matching information and preparing adjustment information.
  • Bill self-pay patients, sundry accounts, and provincial and federal agencies.
  • Prepare, batch, and input data using a computerized database program.
  • Maintain departmental filing systems and patient trust accounts.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 and successful completion of a recognized payroll course.
  • Three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work and operate related equipment.
