Job Summary
IEH Services Canada, a leader in food safety, is seeking a full-time Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join its team in Richmond, BC. This position requires candidates to be available to work evenings and weekends. Employees will be eligible for benefits after three months of continuous, full-time employment. The current night shift hours are from 15:30 to midnight.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Receive customer samples, verify information, and enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Perform sample preparation and testing in accordance with established procedures using molecular, immunoassay, and microbial enumeration methods.
- Ensure all analytical results are of high accuracy, quality, and generated in a timely manner.
- Laboratory reporting and quality control.
- Media and reagent preparation.
- Waste disposal and general laboratory cleaning duties.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

- Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with data entry and computer applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and perform tasks according to laboratory priorities.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, manage time, and work independently.

Educational Requirements
University degree or technical diploma in microbiology, biotechnology, genetics, or related sciences. Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum of 1 year of experience. Please apply with a resume and cover letter.
