Job Overview

IEH Services Canada, a leading food safety provider, is currently seeking a Full Time Microbiology Laboratory Specialist to join its team in Richmond, BC.

Compensation

The successful candidate can expect a competitive hourly rate of $24.00-$25.00 per hour, with additional benefits including overtime pay.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Receive customer samples, verify information, and enter data into our laboratory information management system.
  • Perform sample preparation and testing using molecular, immunoassay, and microbial enumeration methods, adhering to established procedures.
  • Ensure all analytical results are of high accuracy, quality, and generated in a timely manner.
  • Laboratory reporting and quality control.
  • Prepare media and reagents as required.
  • Dispose of waste and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with data entry and computer applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Education Requirements

A university degree or technical diploma in microbiology, biotechnology, genetics, or a related science is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting.
