Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Indigenous Community Support Specialist to join our team at Native Counselling Services of Alberta.

The successful candidate will be responsible for advocating on behalf of clients in courts and hearings, as well as lobbying for solutions to problems affecting client groups.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advocating for clients in courts and hearings;
  • Lobbying for solutions to problems affecting client groups;
  • Monitoring and evaluating programs and services;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with indigenous communities and organizations.

This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week. The language of work is English.

Requirements include:

  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years;
  • Or equivalent experience;
  • Valid driver's licence and own vehicle;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
